b. What are your favorite flowers? I love gerbers, and tulips most of all.
c. What types of hobbies/crafts do you enjoy? I love mixed media collage, atcs, photography, scrapbooking
d. What types of vintage do you collect or look for? brightly colored buttons, milk glass, cards, and table cloths

e. Any allergies or things that you absolutely can't stand? No allergies.

kin-der-art

One of my kindergarten classes painted this, well with a little help. They each did a flower. There is one missing. Can you tell. I will be going to their classroom today to get that last flower painted. I hope this painting will go into the silent auction in April.

Happy #9

H turned nine on Tuesday and I have to say the best present he got was a briefcase full of tape from Grandma and Grandpa. I can't tell you how much this kid loves tape. Now maybe I'll have tape in the tape drawer without it disapearing. And he said, "you know where to come if you need tape," so he is willing to share. He also got a digital camera, because he loved taking pictures with mine. So much that, he has had his camera for a total of a day and a half, and the memory card is completely full. We now have pictures of everything in the house. Maybe he needs a blog to share them, hehe! Happy birthday H.

Orange Plaza

The sun has come out again. We have had some stormy weather here lately, but alas the sun is out again. I feel spring commin on. These pics are from our bike ride to the Orange Plaza circle for lunch. We ate Jalapenos' cheesy quesadillas. Talk about cheesy.

Art in Jr High

Just some pictures to share from the jr. high art front. We did iArt and each student created their own "i" poster, and we made chunky books last semester and we are in the process of making stick sculptures that are really fun.

Just sharing a couple of assignments for the Red Bee. I made a layout of my mother-in-law when she was 4 years old. Isn't she cute. She is still cute. And I made a few cards for a display using a few different black and white papers. I love black and white. I am off to church and then the Red Bee to display them.

Heart ATCs

These are some of the atcs from the mixed media heart swap. There were so many lovely heart cards made for the swap, and being the hostess I got a lot of hostess cards to keep. Thanks everyone. And there is a new atc site to check out, it's called atcs for all. I am scrappin at the Red Bee tonight, so look forward to some new layouts shared soon. I also have been really inspired by some artists I've found. Check out Traci Bautista and D.J. Pettitt. I met Traci at CHA and got her new book, Collage Unleashed

Blue Steal

Well, can you tell softball season is starting again? Emma is on a new team called Blue Steal. They asked me to make a run can for the team, so fans can donate a quarter each time a run comes in and the girls can have a party with the money at the end of the season. I found this cute can at the goodwill and the rest of the stuff came from my stash. Go Blue Steal.

Mixed Media Collage

At the CHA show last week I watched one of my favorite artists, Claudine Hellmuth do some mixed collage tags at the Ranger booth, with alcohol inks and glossy accents. I was so inspired I came home and got out my supplies and started playing around with some of her techniques. This is what I came up with. Now I am in the process of doing an entire canvas with steps from one of the Somerset Studio magazines. I'm completely inspired..... You?

Comment Thing

this book was at the Rusty Pickle booth at CHA. I love buttons. I just had to post again, because I removed the comment section by accident and wanted to put it back, so I had to post again to see if it's there again. I added the extra word scramble thing, because I was starting to get spam in my comments section. Yuk! Hope this works. You might have to leave me a comment to test it. hehe! Love the comments!

{ART}

25 zettified me's are going out in the mail tomorrow for a zetti me atc swap. I will be getting back 25 zettified friends from the atc site called themailartist.com. This site as well as atcards.com will be closing their doors at the end of the month. There has been much controversy and panic about when and where we will meet up again, but there are moderators who are setting up new sites as we speak. I like that art is constant though and I can turn to my creativity in times of uncertainty and it is still there. Thank God for creativity.

These are photos of 2 inch squares in the fabric medium (not my favorite) but I am tempting it anyway. They are going to become part of a dress for an altered doll and quilt for:
"the pink artist"
is a community of artists joining together
to create one joint art doll to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
When doll is complete, it will be mailed in to Art Doll Quarterly™
before finally being auctioned off on eBay at a later date. See the site in the upper right of my blog.

{Sweet}

More Valentine's pics. I made cupcakes and used the cupcake tree to display them for my family. I got out some of the ballerinas and hearts that I purchased recently from the cake decorating store. I also altered my photos with the filters on photoshop elements. Faith, hope, LOVE, but the greatest of these is love. 1Cor 13:13. Happy Heart Sweetness to you.

more inspiration from CHA

These were from the Ranger booth at CHA. They are all done on canvases, so here is some good ideas to use canvas other than painting. I have been collecting canvases from garage sales and thrift stores, just haven't known what to do exactly with them yet, now I have some ideas. I love inspiration....

{Happy Heart Day}

Okay, so I had this idea that I got from the "For the love of heArt supplies" swap. I thought it would be fun to make hearts for the kid's teachers and instead of putting in art supplies, put in teacher supplies, like erasers and bandaids, etc. So here they are. Hope they like them. I had fun making them.

{Chunky Birthday Book}

I got these chunky birthday book pages in the mail yesterday. They are all fabric and made by others that I traded with. I love the candles made out of colored paper clips and the party hats. Fabric is really not my medium, but I love to see how everyone else uses it. Do you like using fabric?

Projects from CHA

Here are some pics from CHA I took today. These are sample projects made from product from Creative Cafe, EKsucess and more. I think I took a lot of pictures of chunky books. Guess I see chunky books in my future. I had a lot of fun, but really had visual overload from all the new product. I would not want to be a buyer and have to choose.
