Key Tree and Projects

I found some really great stuff this weekend, but the all time favorite find was this key tree. I got it at Whimsy in downtown Tustin. The keys come off so I can add other things depending on the season. I also got some projects done for the Red Bee. The first is a Lee house done with Teresa Collins paper and the other is a chunky book made out of a new line of scrap supplies called Kaiser. Hope to get some heart stuff done for the charity crop coming up in May.

{Gather and Create}

Finished some chunky monochromatic pages for a swap on atcsforall.com This was really fun. I love working with one hue and the tints and shades of that color. Can't wait to see what I get back in return.

Found some ricrac at the Lutheran High Thrift Store right by my house. Scored. Got so many colors. Very vintage.

....and a sunflower collage from one of my classes. We are studying van Gogh and doing a picture of Starry Night, but we love his sunflowers too.
.....and found this set of trays at the Goodwill. Can't wait to use them.

birds and bonnets swap

Just sharing these little pannels that will be swapped with others in the Birds and Bonnets Vintage Swap hosted by Beth and Karla. Haven't had much time lately for creativeness after my big weekend. Trying to get caught up on housework etc. Also, I have been trying some new recipes, thanks to Christine our hostess from last weekend. She shared her fantastic meals and recipes with us. So greatful and blessed by that woman.

{Happy B-Day Linda}

Got together with the Calvary gals last night for a GNO. We celebrated Linda's Birthday. {Happy Birthday Linda} I made this little party hat, which Linda was so gracious to wear.

post presents

Got some lovely things in the mail from my fellow bloggers in blogger land. The top picture is from Christine from Tangerine Dreams. She sent me a beautifully painted muffin tin full of vintage ribbon, buttons and inchies. Thanks so much Christine. And the second picture is from Laura of Little Orange Kitchen. Laura sent me a care package of seeds and organic teas, chocolate and soap. Can't wait to use them. Thanks Laura. Wow, and it wasn't even my birthday. Happy Day. I love RAK.

Just some favorite pics of layouts and the girls from the weekend. I had a lovely time and feel so refreshed and inspired as a woman, mother, friend, and scrapbooker. Thanks to Christine, and Hanne, and my roommate Maureen and all the girls. Let's do it again, how about Sept?

Looking forward to some creative time this weekend. Been so busy at work and with softball. Need a break. Mental Health Day. This is a layout I did for display. It's my self-portrait page in which I have Zettified myself. If you don't know what zetti is you can find it here. Teesha More is such an inspiration to me. Hope you have a great weekend and get lots of creative time.

I love garage sales...

because there is so much out there and you never know what you are going to find. I love the weekend, cuz if I have time I have the need to hit a sale. It's all about a deal, and it's hard to go home empty handed. Well, lucked out today and found this little bird bath and some vintage lace, jewels and frames. Not sure what I will do with these yet, but had to have them. Hope your last shopping spree was a treasure deal too.

Pink Art

I just checked out the girl gone wild blog and I found my square on the art doll they are going to auction off for funds for cancer research. It's the one in the upper right of the picture above. Check out the blog for more pics. I love the doll, there was so much time and effort put into her. She is amazing.

Mother/Daughter Tea

We had our tea on Tuesday Night. It was so much fun to have a special evening with our daughters and really helped to open up the lines of communication so are so important during this time in their lives. They did a baby photo game, to try and guess who the pictures were of, and we displayed them on vintage aprons. We also had mason jars for the center pieces and vintage table cloths on the tables. Also pictured is the girls before the tea, eating dinner at Panda Express and the goodie bags that each girl got. Also, my friend Sarah took pictures of all the moms and daughters together and they turned out so nice. I was looking through Home Companion magazine yesterday and there is a Chick Lit party featured in there. Really cute. Girls get together and trade books (get it, lit is short for literature). This might be fun to do at the beginning of the summer so you can trade great reads for vacation. Sounds like a mother/daughter thing too. So, I am tired but also inspired.
