Converse/Exciting Week
Okay, these are my birthday Converse. As you can see they have patches. I really like them and have been wearing them all week. Also, I took a picture of some of the paper mache bowls we have been making in art. They need to be sprayed with a clear coat before the kids can take them home. I love the bright colors they used to paint them with. They were painted with all the donated acrylic paint, so we are putting it to good use right away. I will be at CHA for the next 4 days. I am really excited. I'm not sure what to expect, but know it is going to be idea overload. Also too, the scrap fundraiser night is next Friday so this is an exciting week. I'm looking forward to it all. What exciting things do you have going on this week?

Celebrating
Just two more days until CHA. I can't wait. I have to get off the computer and make my namebagde holder. I have to make it really creative, as I am going to spend the weekend with the most creative people in the country. I'll definately post my experiences as this is the first time I get to go to a craft and hobby world fair. Thanks for all the birthday comments. Jill D. I hope you have been celebrating by leaving at 4:30 this week. I noticed your comment was left at 11:4osomething which is too late for a kindergarten teacher to stay up. We have been paper macheing in art elective. I'll try to remember to take some pictures tomorrow. We are getting messy and loving it.

the latest
This is my latest digital scrapbook page. I am having fun with all the kits and stuff. I have been checking out all the posts on twopeasinabucket, trying to find out as much info as possible about CHA. Can't wait for this weekend. I need to find a namebagde holder and decorate it. Guess that is the thing to do. I'm excited to meet a bunch of really creative people at the convention. I'll let you know how it goes. Monday, January 22, 2007
Happy Birthday To Me
Today is my birthday. I am wearing free dress to work and it is going to be a great day. I had lunch with mom and dad yesterday and this was the cake. It was really good. We played two-square in their familly room. It was fun. Tonight, Preston is making beef-strogonoff. I think that's how you spell it.

Tomorrow
Grandparents Day

This is art from grandparents day at school. Emma made frames for her grandparents and they were so cute, I had to take a picture. The other is of a group collage that we did in 6th grade with the grandparents. It says "Joy is to Behold God in Everything." There are selfportraits in it. Can you find the Grandpa that thinks he looks like a clown portrait?

Yummy Things
Here are a few pictures that I played around with in Photoshop Elements. The filter gallery is fun. Especially when you are using photos of yummy things. I got some yummy things today. Preston took me out for my birthday and Lady Footlocker had by one get one half off on Converse, so I got to get two pair. I love my new grey ones. They have cut outs with plaid material patches. I love plaid. I'll post a picture of them tomorrow. I also got a green pair to replace my worn out ones. I also got a new can opener for the trailer and a new peeler cuz my other one disappeared. He also bought me some Escada perfum. I'm going to smell yummy too, and I'll be able to peel potatoes with ease.

Paper Mache
Angel Friends
My Valentine Angel has friends. They are all hanging on the tree that Preston made for me. I have found some inspiration. Rachel at Red Velvet Art is doing a Valentine Card Swap and I hope to get in on it. What you do is send in your information and you get 3-5 people's info in exchange and you send Valentines to total strangers. Sounds like fun. Maybe I can make some Valentine Angel Valentine Cards.
Well tomorrow is Friday so that is exciting. It is Grandparents day at school so everyone is looking forward to it. I just have one art class and I want to find something fun to do with that class and their grandparents. I have some ideas, but haven't narrowed it down. If I come up with something artrageous I'll let you know. Also I want to post a cute picture of Megan and Alex in art today. They are making paper mache bowls.

Getting Inspired

more digital fun
I have been on the computer a lot lately. I am checking out all the free digital kits for scrappin' like at two peas. I can't believe all the free kits out there. It's a wonder that they sell any of the ones that cost. It is like getting free scrapbooking supplies, so as you can see I have been obsessed. Like I need another addiction.
Emma and Henry have been teasing a lot lately. Needless to say, it has been driving me crazy. So we all all going to take naps today, since its a holiday and there is no school. That way we can wake up rested and happy and prepared for the week. I'll do it if I can tear myself away from the computer. Preston might have to unplug it... Oh...no! Or I can disipline myself. Yeah, that's it, only 2 hr. a day. Yeah, that's it.. Well guess my time is up for today. Got to go.

Jack

This is Jack. He is our dog of 3 years now. We got him from the pound and found out he is a runner, though he hasn't taken off lately. He gets really comfortable in his bed at night and lays upside-down. He goes camping with us and chases birds in the backyard. He's a pretty good dog. If you ever talk to Henry, ask him about the time jack was attacked. He's got a really great story.
Thank you Laurel and Jill for leaving comments. I was so excited to have comments. They were really nice ones too. I checked out scrapgirls and it is yummy like two peas. I can't get enough of scrapbooking right now. I am really excited for Calvary's Scrap on Feb 2nd and also for CHA at the end of January. I am hoping to see Elsie Flanagan there. She inspires me.

Comment Anyone?

This first image is of a paint donation given to the school. Patty, the old cheer coach dropped off 4 bags of acrylic tubes of paint. We are in paint heaven. The other two are some art I have been working on. Not sure about how to produce it, maybe they'll be in greeting card form soon.
One request, if you're looking. Can you leave a comment? I haven't had one comment yet. Just click on comments and click on anonymous but sign your name. Thanks. Maybe I can give my art students extra credit if they come to my blog and leave a comment. What do you think?

first digital scrapbook page

In my creating memories magazine, there was an article on how to create a digital scrapbook layout, so I tried it for the very first time tonight. I did it. It was pretty easy. You can download a free 30 day trial of Adobe Illustrator here and then download this digital kit here and have fun. I think I need elements for my birthday. I think they sell it at Costco.
Who has tried the digi way?

Charm

I got a really cute charm off of Etsy by a girl named Allison Strine. I love mine. Its not this one but it has a bird on it and it says "she runs with a paper trimmer" which is true about me. I am really inspired by this artists artwork and want to learn how to make charms using a sodder iron. Preston says he has one.

Desert Cycles

The kids riding their motorcycles. Emma learned how to ride the 80 that she and Henry got for Christmas. Henry is going to have to grow into it. Henry and Josh had a good time riding quads around and around the campsite. It was really crowded out there but we had a great time and had fun with the friends we went with. Looking forward to the next ride.
