Kindergarten Concentric Hearts
My kinders worked really hard today making concentric hearts. I gave them a heart template to trace and cut out the hearts first. Then they painted a heart in the center and kept adding heart outlines changing colors then if they got it all filled up with color I told them to paint designs on top of their hearts. I didn't have red, but I had florescent pink which they didn't mind substituting. I love how art gets them to focus, you could hear a pin drop in my class.

Ready For February
I'm so ahead of the game, which is unusual. But I couldn't wait to put these up. My 4th graders studied Jim Dine and Robert Indiana 'love' sculptures and did hearts with oil pastels and tissue borders, and the winter mittens were with 2-3 graders after school. It's been in the 80s weather wise here in So Cal but we can still paint snow....

Mixed Collage
My favorite media, or medium if you must ask, is mixed. I love the layering. Working on a few pieces lately for an assessment.

Mixed Media Collage
I've been in the creative mood lately for some mixed media collage. I started with gluing on some scraps of paper, then painted a light coat of greens and blues, then I printed some bubble wrap patterns here and there in a contrasting color .
Next I painted and collaged some vases and leaves....
Then added collaged and painted flowers. Still not sure it's finished yet, I might add some doodling with a thin black marker.

Finishing up some projects
Now that I have a lil free time, there are so many little projects I want to work on, but my space is a mess. I did finish these for a friend. We saw these bottles at the flea market and some shells as well, I just need to find some sand to go inside. Then move on to another project, feeling creative.
