This is a self-portrait I did back in April for the art show at school. I just found it again when I cleaned out the craft room. It is made by painting magazine text pages and tearing and collaging. It's a fun technique.
Just a few pics from the 4th of July. Mo's street had a block party so we went there. The kids had a blast on the waterslide, playing games and the bike parade. Happy July.
Today we went to the ART area in Santa Ana. We looked at some of the studios and galleries and had lunch at the Gypsy Den. We checked out the ARTbar, and found a cool art gallery that had mobils made out of recycled trash. Just the thing that Henry likes to do with cardboard and tape. It was very cool.
We went to Wildrivers yesterday for Henry's unbirthday. The kids had a lot of fun. On Monday Nights you can take a carload for a group rate which was really a good deal, so we plan to go back again on another Monday night. Hope you will go with us.
The daring card makers' dare this week is to use beads to make a card. This is my version of this dare. I used torn paper, ink, letter beads and brads, and flowers with silver sticker centers. Thanks for looking.
Aren't these houses soooo cute? Don't you want to make a set for yourself? Well, you can. I am teaching a class on how to make them at the Red Bee on Saturday, July 28th from 11-1. Cost: $35. Hope you can come. Let me know if you have questions. To sign up check out the Red Bee's website. See you in class.
