Bike Trail

We have found a great bike trail near our house and there are some dirt jumps along the way. There is some construction going on, so there are piles of dirt just calling to be jumped.

Serveday

Last weekend, Henry and I went to this really cool place to do some volunteer work for serve day. It is called the Orange County Therapeutic Arts Center in Santa Ana. There was art all over the walls and the center works with children with cognitive and learning disabilities. Henry had fun painting and I cut, pasted and glued for art projects preparation. What a cool place. This was just one of the the cool projects on the wall.

House Row

Last chance to sign up for my House Row class. It's this Saturdayuly 28th at the Red Bee from 10-12. It's $35 and the houses are wooden, with paint, paper and embelishments on them. Very cute for a kitchen or family room. Let me know if you have questions??????

layouts

Got some scrappin done today. I wanted to mix it up a bit and stretch my style. I have been inspired by Adrienne Looman. I even ordered some of her buttons. Tomorrow I am buying a watercolor travel set, for the class I am going to take. I'll post some of those paintings next week. Looking forward to it.

atc

Just another atc from a series I have been working on.

Thursday nights in downtown Fullerton there is a streetfair/farmer's market. There is a fountain that shoots out of the ground that the kids love to play in. There is alos a live band, so the atmosphere is really cool. Everyone brings their dogs too, so it is fun to people and dog watch.

We went this last week and will have to do it again soon.

fair fun

We went to the fair last week with the Dunn's. It was a lot of fun. We saw a lot of animals and rode a lot of rides and Henry even won a guitar. The corndogs were huge.

fair fun

We went to the Orange County Fair last week with the Dunn's and had a really great time. My feet were killing me, but we saw a lot of animals, rode some rides and Henry even won a guitar. The pig was about to give birth, and we waited, but we wanted to see the rest of the fair. The corndogs were gigantic.

Busy

It has been a busy weekend and I haven't had much time for creativity. I did get a swap of atc's traded and they'll go out in the mail tomorrow. I am hosting a pumpkin atc swap, but it's too early to post fall pictures so I'll save them. I have signed up for a watercolor class at Schroeder Studio Gallery in Old Towne Orange, so I am excited for that. I am so into mixed media collage, this will be a change for me. What's your favorite medium?

sweet

The daring card makers' dare this week is to make a card with some text. Guess what, I love text. I have a text stamp that I use all the time. So here is my card. Isn't it sweet?

Scrapjacked-hot couture

This is my layout for scrapjacked this month. I haven't done it in a while so it was nice to get out of the box and try a new layout inspiration. The background paper is by MOD. I ripped black cardstock for the frame and added a handmade tag and ribbon. I found these cool rinestones at Joann's on sale by Creating Keepsakes. I stocked up. Thanks for looking.

Self Portrait

This is a self-portrait I did back in April for the art show at school. I just found it again when I cleaned out the craft room. It is made by painting magazine text pages and tearing and collaging. It's a fun technique.

Pics from the 4th

Just a few pics from the 4th of July. Mo's street had a block party so we went there. The kids had a blast on the waterslide, playing games and the bike parade. Happy July.

ART

Today we went to the ART area in Santa Ana. We looked at some of the studios and galleries and had lunch at the Gypsy Den. We checked out the ARTbar, and found a cool art gallery that had mobils made out of recycled trash. Just the thing that Henry likes to do with cardboard and tape. It was very cool.

wildrivers

We went to Wildrivers yesterday for Henry's unbirthday. The kids had a lot of fun. On Monday Nights you can take a carload for a group rate which was really a good deal, so we plan to go back again on another Monday night. Hope you will go with us.

The daring card makers' dare this week is to use beads to make a card. This is my version of this dare. I used torn paper, ink, letter beads and brads, and flowers with silver sticker centers. Thanks for looking.
