Patriots

The Patriots are in the semi-finals. They play on Saturday at 11am (Centenial Tustin Park in Tustin field 4). If they win, they play in the championship game at 1pm (field 2). FYI-call me if you need directions. Go Patriots!

Matisse

Henri Matisse is one of my favorite artists too. We are studying him, and doing an art project based on two of his collages. I did some of my own Matisse collages for a trading card swap. The art festival is coming up at the end of April so I am going to get really busy with that. Hope to enter some of my own art, besides displaying all the children's art. I am planning on displaying a piece from every art student this year. I heart art.

Favorite Artist

My favorite artist right now is Teesha Moore. She does a lot of journals and altered books. I just love her art and get totally inspired by her. Someday I want to take a class from her. This is one of her journaling pages.

Win

The Patriots had two wins again today. Emma got a single and a double. Thank you to her coaches who have really been working hard getting the team ready for the tournament. Go Patriots. I have been taking pictures for the slideshow. Happy Weekend!

We are back from Sacramento. We had a great time. We saw the capitol building and gold mines and panned for gold. The pictures are of the girls in front of a gold mine that we went inside, Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Trujillo in hats (a real bobcat hat) and the group in front of Sutter's Fort. We are exhausted and will need a day to recoup.

sprinkler

When I got home the kids wanted to get wet so they played in the sprinkler out front. They cooled off and had a little fun. Love the weather and the time change. Spring is here. Grandma and Grandpa hope you are having nice weather too.

Hula

Okay, not too much blackmail, but here is a taste of the footage I have of some wholesome Christian school teachers. Who was wearing jeans and a white sweater?

Creative/Hulahooping

Still at it. I am obsessed with ATC's right now. I just got another in the mail today. I even have some coming from Canada, the UK and Norway. Can't wait to see them. These are a few that I have made lately. I think that I will even have to take some colored pencils with me when we go to Sacramento. Did first-aid and CPR today at school. I can save your life, if you want me to. We had a luncheon too and I got some good pictures of both the first aid and the luncheon. We had to bandage each other up. I have some good blackmail pics of my co-workers. There was even some hula-hooping going on between meetings. Wouldn't you like to see those. I better stop bloggin and upload.

Swapmeet

Went to the swap meet today after church and bought lots of fruit and veggies. We looked at purses, but I didn't find one I liked. I liked this really cool lifeguard chair. If I had a pool I'd have Preston make one and then I could paint it all fun and funky like this one. What did you do exciting this weekend? Hope it was fun.

First Aquired Artist Trading Card

This is a picture of the first ATC I received from trading. It's by an artist named Roc Nicholas from Pennsylvania. I am excited to have it. I have a few more trades in the works and some swaps too.

Layouts From Sunday

These are just a few lo's I did on Sunday. Didn't realize I hadn't started an album for Henry, so I am getting caught up with that. Thanks for scrapping with me Maureen, Hanne and Maggie.

Sharing

I have to share this because I had a lot of fun making this and it was a deal too. I got this little suitcase at BigLots for $4. I bought 3 of them thinking I'll use them for something. Then Gayle at work said they are putting together a travel themed birthday present for another coworker and did I have any ideas. So this was my contribution to the gift. I made a passport too. Now they are going to fill it with gas cards and snacks, a map, sunglasses, gum and any other travel necessity they can think of. Hope she doesn't check out my blog, but I had to share it.

Creative Day

Okay, so today I didn't make any ATC's but I was creative. I went to church this morning and Pastor Tim was really on a roll about inviting those who don't attend so I'll put it out there right now. He says you have to ask 7 times before you will get a yes. So, will you come to church with me? will you come to church with me? will you come to church with me? will you come to church with me? will you come to church with me? will you come to church with me? will you come to church with me? That means you should say yes to the last one. If you are weirded out by church, you have to try mine, cuz it's so different. Here is the link if you are in the O.C. and you need to go to a hip, cool cutting edge church. You can wear your shorts and flip flops and drink your coffee there. Here is the link to the crossing hope you can make it.

Anyways, I went to breakfast with dear Merrilee and then scrapbooked at The Red Bee with Maureen, Hanne, and Maureen's friend {who I am drawing a on her name right now}. We had fun. The design team for the Red Bee was there and I was having scrapenvy because they were making all kinds of cool things for displays in the store. I guess I missed out on that one, but will be keeping my eye out if they have a call out for more designers. Like I need another thing to do. So it was a fun day. I have a few project I need to work on this week and will post them when I get them done, and some lo's I did today for Henry's scrapbook. TFL J

How To's

Here is one more that I like. It's called how to choose fresh cut flowers. I found a {how to} article in Vogue or Bazaar that was on {how to's} and this one I had to laugh at. It said: "How to complain: Always complain in a slow, low voice. If you start in a screech, you will have nothing to crescendo up to." FYI--if you need to know, well there you have it. TFL<>< J

ATC's

OKay---I've now been on an ATC {Artist Trading Card} kick. I found a website that you can trade your cards on. I have gotten in on one trade so I am busy making cards. This is my gallery there if you want to see my cards. This is just one to give you an idea.

Emma's team won their game again today. Go Patriots!

U R Loved

Okay, just had to post one more. I am loving my Photoshop Elements. I went to Two Peas to check out some scrapbooking and got inspired, I had to do a digital layout. Thanks for looking. Happy Friday. What are you doing exciting this weekend?

You 3 and 1 Homer

I scrapjacked another layout. This time by Kell Crowe. I wasn't sure which way to go with this one, so I just went for it. It's fun to get out of the old comfort zone and try something new on.

On the softball front I just have to toot my daughter's horn. She hit a homer last night. We are so proud of her. She is our MVD {Most Valuable Daughter} Nice One Em!
