More Busy Hands

I have been playing with markers and collage a bit. I made a little hand template so I have been making a lot of hand ATCs. Just a few more days left of school. Looking forward to the summer.

Busy Hands

Softball

Here are some pics from the tournament this weekend. Emma's team is getting better and better every game. They are still working out the kinks, but they are gaining experience and learning so much. We are grateful for the opportunity to get to play more softball.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It has been a good one so far. I am fighting a cold and hope it goes away soon. I did this collage for a pointy hat swap. I named her "Addison Eyes" because I think the eyes look like Addison's eyes from Grey's Anatomy. I can't believe I am going to have to wait til the fall to watch it again.

projects

I did a couple of projects yesterday. One was that page about me. And two, this cute little house box. I was thinking that it was going to be a dog house and I would put Jack's picture on it, but I went with 1523 instead. I am ready for the weekend. Looking forward to my favorite "S" things, softball and scrappin'. Also, hanging out with family and ATCing. Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

self-portrait

I took some pictures of myself for a scrap page that I have to do. I looked through my files for a picture of me, and realized that I am the one always taking the pictures so there were few and far between of me. So I took a few and then of course photoshopped them and I like this one the best. I'll post my scrap page when it's done. Do you have many pictures of you?????

Things that start with S

Three new layouts I did yesterday. Em and H are so inspiring. I love scrapbooking them. Hope you are having a great day. Busy week again as usual. Emma's all-star games start this weekend with a tournament so you will see some softball pictures blogged soon. My favorite things start with S, softball and scrappin'.

Happy Monday

Well, my biggest new as of late, is that I made it on to the design team for the Red Bee. I get to make projects and pages for them that they will display in the store. I am really excited. I get to work with other great scrappers and get inspiration. It is going to be a lot of fun. I'll post some new pages later today. Happy Monday.

Altered Roledex

I joined an altered roledex swap with some of my ATC friends, so we are creating roledex cards to go into each other's files. It is a different size than the ATCs but still small enough to mail off. I'll take a picture of my roledex when it fills up. Happy Saturday.

Ugly Dolls

My jr. highers made ugly dolls out of felt, yarn and buttons. They were so excited about this project and really had a lot of fun. They had to design their own and then stitch and stuff it. They all made up names for their dolls and can't wait to take them home. They are on display in the window for the weekend. Come on by and see them in person.

Dream

Just posting some inspiration. I have decided lately that Henri Matisse is my favorite artist right now. I love how he was unafraid to use bright and unrealistic colors and I love how he layered his collages. He called collage "Painting with Scissors." I love painting with scissors.

More Projects

The Red Bee, which is the local scrap store here in Tustin, is having a call out for design team members. These are what I am going to submit to them to get picked. If you get picked you get a store discount and you get to display your projects in the store. I'll let you know if they pick me.

Projects

Preston is having the kids work in the backyard to dig up all the railroad ties. They were so enthusiastic about it over the weekend, they actually got a few dug up. We are going to extend the grass back there and move the trampoline back a bit. Happy Tuesday. What projects do you have going on?

mother's day

In celebration of Mother's Day I want to hear your crazy mother stories. Tell me something funny/crazy you did as a mother. Let's hear it. Here is mine:

I was in line to have material cut at Joann's and the lady was taking forever. The line was about 5 deep. My kids were bored and playing with the colorful thread that is right across from the cutting table. The lady stopped cutting a proceeded to ask whose kids those were and could I tell them to stop touching the threads. I said that they were mine and that I would not tell them to stop, and if they damaged the threads I would buy them all and that she needed to cut material a little faster. I remember being in ClothWorld when I was a kid waiting for my mom to get material cut, and those threads were always so attractive, what kid couldn't resist, and they didn't damage a single one.

patriots

The Patriots are still playing, their season will end tomorrow. It has been a great season. Although they are no longer undefeated, they have done well and hopefully will end the tournament on a high note. Grandpa gave Emma money for a new bat, so we are going bat shopping today. Thanks, Grandpa.

Busy

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted. Been really busy with work and the kids. I think things are settling down a bit. I hope. I'm excited about teaching art this summer at Orange Lutheran High, a summer art camp program. I'll post more details when I get them. The camp runs from June 25-29 and is for 3rd-8th graders. More on that later. What are your summer plans?
