Flower Clippy RAK

I have so many silk flowers from scrapbooking that I thought it would be fun to make flower clips for your hair or shirt. I have made a bunch for Mistletoe Mall, but thought it would be fun to do a give away. Leave a comment before Friday and I'll draw a name for a winner of two flower clips.

Botero

Another Botero painting for my biggest loser post. I find his art very inspirational. Also, I was reading an interview of him and he called his subjects volumetric. Lets hope I become less volumetric and win the biggest loser. I am still in 4th place. Not too bad out of 11. I love art. It's so inspirational. And look, there's Jack in the lower right.

bookmarks

Not that I get to read much, but I thought I would join a bookmark swap, just to try a new format. I found an old french textbook that had some cool cartoons in it. I used stamps and markers to add layers.

> I found him at the Goodwill about a week ago. I think he is adorable, but I brought him home and put him on the bookcase for display and he fell and his boot shattered. Not sure what to do with him now. Maybe I can sculpt a new foot? Any ideas?

Got a little bit of time to make some posties lately and this was my favorite. I got the bird image from an old National Geographic magazine. I ran into a stack of 10 or so from the 1950's. There are some really cool images in them. Where do you find good images for collage?

Mona

I found this painting of Mona Lisa by the Columbian artist Fernando Botero for my biggest loser post. He exagerates the size and shape of his subjects taken from art history. My biggest loser group at work has lost a total of 45lbs. I am currently in 4th place, but not far behind. Soon I'll look like the real Mona Lisa.

Emma did the Mom and Me class with me yesterday that I taught at The Red Bee. We had a lot of fun and got a bunch of spooky castles made for Halloween. Notice she is in her softball uniform. We had come straight from a double header. Softball and scrappin' my two favorite things. What did you do this weekend????

If you haven't been to Disneyland in the Fall, it is pretty decked out for the holidays. We went after school last week. Uncle Jack got us signed in. THanks Uncle Jack. Henry's least favorite part was not being tall enough to drive alone on autopia. He had to have mom in the car with him. No fair that Conner is three inches taller.
The softball season is half over. It has really gone by fast. We spent Saturday down in Mission Viejo at a tournament. That is all I can say without being critical. Today we have a basketball game. Yea!
We have a health benefits meeting this week. Here is my joke for the joke contest:

A patient walks into a doctor's office with a cucumber crammed into one ear, a bouquet of parseley jammed into his mouth, and surprisingly large carrots hanging from his nostrils. He manages to mumble, "Doc, you gotta help me. I feel awful. What's wrong with me?"

The doctor replied, "You're not eating properly."

Sweet and Sinister Package

My sweet and sinister swap package came in the mail from Gina my swap partner. I love all the wonderful black and white things she sent me. Thanks so much Gina for all the halloween presents.

gifts

I came home from work today and found this cute little pumpkin at my door. Thanks mom and I love the cellphone holder too. They will be a big hit at mistletoe mall. I think I love the fall the best cuz the decorations are so cool. And...
Here is my collection of postcards that I have been trading in the mail, with my newest one on top from my friend Roc. I love mail art, it's like getting gifts in the mail. What have you been gifted with lately?

Thursday Nite Gals

Had a great time celebrating Lori's recovery from brain surgery the other night. It was really great to see this group of friends. We usually get together at Christmas time, and sometimes to play Bunko. Glad that Lori is well and feeling good. I love my girlfriends.

We weighed in today and almost everyone lost. All together all 10 of us lost a total of 26.6lbs. I think this is great way to motivate each other, hope we can continue to be big losers.

For the Sweet and Sinister Swap

These are items I am mailing off for the sweet and sinister swap. Hope if you are my swap partner you didn't peek.

basketball

In the midst of another sport season, the yearbook teacher asked me to take some pictures at the game on Monday, so I was more than happy to. These are a few of the good ones. Would you believe I have a Sony Cyber Shot camera that fits in my purse. Also, of course, a little help from photoshop and a daughter who is photgenic.
