art camp

I took some pictures today at artcamp. These are just some of the projects we have done this week. Tomorrow is the last day and we are going to have an art show. It has been a fun week and the kids have been awesome.

Daring Card Makers Mid Week Challenge

This card is for the daring card makers mid-week theme. They have lots of weddings coming up, so they did a love theme dare. I used scrap paper torn on a chipboard heart shape, added ribbon, and bling and a tag. Next I mounted it on pop dots on top of inked paper and a ribbon attached with brads. Thanks for looking.

angel game

We went to the Angel game today with the All Stars. The Angels lost, but we had a lot of fun. The girls even got on the jumbotron, so that made the day. Go Angels!

art camp and daring card makers

It's a busy morning, we are on our way to art camp, but I wanted to share the sandcastles the kids made for practice for camp. Our theme is beach so these are sandcastles made out of sand and cornstarch to help them stay together forever. We also added glass and shells and flags. We will be making them tomorrow in camp. Let me know if you want the recepie. The third picture is for the daring card makers dare this week, to make a card using a tag or packaging of some sort. Mine has a tag from one of my favorite sweatshirts. It was a cool tag, so I just cut it off and added it to my card and embelished. Easy fun. Thanks for looking.

banner

Like my new banner? I figured it out on my own. I thought it was a lot harder than it was. I still feel like I can work on it some more, but just getting it up there is progress. I just needed some uninterupted time and I got some of that tonight. Donna is having a contest on her blog if you want to give her an idea of something cheap and fun to do with the kids this summer. Check it out here. You can win some scrapbooking stash.

mail surprise

I got a package in the mail today from an artist friend in PA. She sent this little sketch book for me. It's so small I can loop it through a chain and make it a necklace. I think that is what I'll do. It is so cute, and just came in the mail out of the blue. Those are the best presents. Random acts of kindness. Thanks Roc. I'll pay it forward.

We picked up a slip-n-slide today while we were out running erands and the kids did some surfing on the front lawn.

ATCs

These ATCs went really fast on atcards.com. I love paper piecing, layering and inking up the edges. I'll have to make more cuz they traded really quick. We are off to run errands. Art camp is next week, and our them is BEACH, so I want to make sand castle sculptures. I need to buy cornstarch, sand and sand castle molds. Oh and also a old pot to make them in. We are also going to check out the new Orange Library and sign up for the summer reading program. Have a great day.

Vacation

It is now, summer vacation! Looking forward to sleeping in, and hanging around the house. Looking forward too, to exploring Southern California. I have a few fieldtrips I want to take. Definately going to check out a few museums, libraries, and thriftstores. Where are you going this summer?

ATCs

Just some new ATCs for trade. I got inspired by another artist and thought I would try a technique with the sewing machine. Got a lot done at the Red Bee on Friday night. I was there with Jill who was making a paperbag scrapbook for each one of her kindergarten students. Are you done Jill? Let me know if you need more help. She used about 10 glue sticks.

Softball Weekend

It was a softball weekend. The Tustin Silver2 team played 6 games total to win the Tustin AllStart Romp. They were on a roll and there was no stopping them. Awesome job girls and coaches!

Time to regroup and back to school for just 2.5 more days. Looking forward to the end.

Just Some Art

Just wanted to post some artwork from this year. I can't believe there are only a few days left of school. We have had a lot of fun in art this year.

Sunday, June 3, 2007

This picture is from the field today in Placentia. It was a rough day on the field, but Emma had fun. I found a cute letter about the "typical softball parent" here if anyone is interested. It talks about how much time and energy we put into our softball players, only wanting the best for them.
