I am getting a lot of eggs coming in for the Easter egg garland swap. So eggcited about swapping out, I can hardly wait. Thanks everyone for playing and leaving links so we all can enjoy all of them. Just 5 more days til I'll be swappin them out.

I stopped by the Red Bee yesterday to check out the new paper and I got this line, by Cosmo Cricket. It's called Girl Friday and its really cool. Lots of vintage pictures and patterns. And I was talking to Candice, who pointed me in the direction of Paris to the Moon. They were having a Tour de Art by Earth Angels artists, so Emma and I cruised down to Costa Mesa and checked it out.
this spring basket was inside with lots of other wonderful creatations. It was very crowded, so I'll have to go back on a less busy day. We did see some great art, though, and really got inspired.
This duck was in the front window and I had to have a picture of him with his party hat on.
and this sign was in the alley next to the store. I just thought it was odd, usually they say speed bumps, not humps.
So when we got home we looked up the artist Nicole Bowen and tried our hand at painting on felt and wool. We are going to get grandma to sew these images onto somethings. The woodland owl is the one Emma (my 12 year old) painted.

And, an update on Oliver. He is now 4.5 months old and getting bigger by the minute. He loves to roll over and have you rub his tummy.

Bingo Card Book

Just put this together from a swap I hosted. Though I don't play bingo I like using the cards to alter in art. What are you working on? And, how are those eggs coming? I have gotten about 6 sets in the mail, just about 30 more to go.

rolos

It's been a while since I've made any rolos, so I found a few that never got swapped and I made these three too. I also cleaned out the refridgerator, so I am feeling really productive.

March Stuff

Happy St. Patrick's Day. This is a tag that I received from a swap last year though Karla's cottage. I really don't have much in the way of decorations for this holiday. Maybe that is something I can work on next year.

I do have two more eggs for inspiration. Has anyone else finished theirs and posted them on their blog? Leave a link so we can all check them out. Also, check in the last post's comments for some links to some eggs that are completed.
Here is a spring picture that I bought a few years ago. Love the crisp air and the warmer breezes of spring.
My paper flower collection that I will put to use in decorating all things spring.
A cute bunny that I found at a sale a while back. I definately will have to find something cute to use him/her in.
and, it's been a while since I posted anything softball, so bare with me. Most Sundays are spent watching my girl play. She amazes me with her athletic talent. I would even rather watch her team play than do art, so that says a lot. Go Crush!

How are your eggs coming?

I haven't seen many links to eggs that are getting done. Who else is in the spring mood besides me? We had a big fundraiser garage sale for the softball team this morning. It felt great to clean out and get rid of some junk, I mean treasures. Time for spring art and spring cleaning too.

journal pages

Here are some journal pages in progress. Not sure what the last one is going to say. Any good ideas? I'm in a journal page swap and have to do one for a trade a month. Don't want to get behind. The stripy tights girl is absolutely not me, I wear my jeans every Friday.

Nothing new creative wise on the burner right now, so I looked back at my pictures from a year ago. I was hitting the estate sales and making atcs. Just might have to get up early this Saturday and hit the sales. Just looking at the pictures gives me the bug.

Fieldtrip

Bare with me, this is not an art post, but I wanted to share this pics with friends and family. We just got back from our fieldtrip to Sacramento and I finally feel like I've caught up on rest. We went to the Capital and to Coloma where gold was first discovered here in California, part of the 4th grade history lessons. We didn't strike it rich, but we had a lot of fun.

These are a couple of postcard jams. My first jam really. And if you are asking what a jam is, it's when more than one person works on the art and you mail it around so that everyone in the jam puts their own creativity into it (roc, cathy, paben.) It was hard for me, so a good challenge to have to think about composition that came before me and what will come after me. What has challenged you lately?

Eggs in the Morning

Do you like eggs in the morning? I don't like to necessarily eat eggs in the morning, but I love to wake up before everyone else and feed the dogs, make coffee and then go in the craft room and make eggs. They are almost as fun as making dresses in the morning. Here is my dress garland from the swap.
