Miro

We studied Joan Miro, and his surreal paintings and sculptures, then created these cardboard sculptures that we painted on one side and drew on the other.  The kids really enjoyed the different options they had, putting them together.

Clipper Ships

I got this idea from Deep Space Sparkle.  Our 5th graders go to the pilgrim ship in Dana Point, so we looked at different tall ships and the differences in them and then painted these, one week was the water color back ground, and the next week was the ship and sails.

Turkey Feathers

Collaborative project, each student designs a feather for the turkey tail.  I put this on the door, so the kids can see it on the way in or out of the art room.

Dio De Los Muertos

Went to a Dio De Los Muertos celebration, what a really cool thing, learned a lot about Latin American culture.

Made this for a friend's son who was getting engaged, how cute would engagement pictures be with these?

Ampersands

Ampersands are my new favorite obsession, I think I need a collection

Fall Art

My second and third graders made scarecrows in after school programming last week. I looked on-line for ideas and I didn't see any really super cute ones, so I combined a few that I saw and like.  I did a directed drawing lesson and since my sink isn't yet installed we colored them with crayons.  They came out cute I thought....
