{S} words
It's another softball weekend. Which is perfectly fine with me. If I can't be doing the creative thing, then I certaintly will take to the fields any day. You would think that I might get tired of doing layouts of softball, but in all truth, I don't. They include my two favorite {S} words: {softball} and {scrapbooking}! Imagine that. Not to mention my favorite {E} word, {Emma}. Go Emma!

Birds and Bonnets
I have shared this before, but I used images and background papers from the Vintage Worshop Online Store. And because I did this swap I won another drawing. In the Birds and Bonnets swap I am one of the winners of a (virtual) $25 gift certificate for downloads from The Vintage Workshop. They have all kinds of vintage papers and images. So cool, can't wait to get some more vintage pictures. Thanks Karla and Beth and thanks Vintage Workshop.
Memorial Day Weekend
Happy belated Memorial Day. I took this picture yesterday from my back yard. We live in the flight path of Fairhaven Memorial Park, so every Memorial Day we see the planes fly over and they do the missing man formation. It's pretty cool how close they fly together. We also spent the weekend at the softball fields. I love watching this girl play. Go Tustin Silver 12U.

I made 10 of these yesterday for the From the Heart Charity Event coming up at the Red Bee on May 31st. If you want more details and to sign up for this great scrap event check it out here.
Here I was inspired by this blog and got out my Collage Unleashed book by Traci Bautista.
and these are some of the angel chunky book pages I received in the mail a while back. I love the one on the right by the artist Shelli Heisenann at Potbelly Arts. Thanks for looking. I'm feeling a giveaway coming on soon.

Pimped Slug Bugs
also, I wanted to share these cuz I think they are really cute. We are drawing cars in art at school. I looked up art cars on the computer and found out that they designed tricked out cars in the 70's even before 'Pimp My Ride' on MTV. We tricked out a VW Bug for Jesus, as if it was his. WWJD-What would Jesus drive? was the assignment.

fieldtrip
Went on a fieldtrip today with the thirdgraders. We had a lot of fun riding the public bus to the Santa Ana Courthouse and Civic Center. I have been making pennents and decorating water bottles for the all stars softball team. The season is going to get really busy. Hope to find time to be creative. I know the need will be there.

I'm a winner
I'm a shopper like this girl I found at the Goodwill, but I am also a winner too. See Leah Fung's Blog. I shared my pencil flowers and I won the drawing. Can't wait for my package to arrive. I get a box of Prima, Three Bugs in a Rug, Autumn Leaves and American Crafts goodies in the mail. So excited. Can't say I never win anything anymore, I'm a winner.

This is a bouquet I made for mother's day from the roses in the backyard. I used one of my many pieces of milk glass for the vase. Also, it was my mother-in-law's birthday today. Happy Birthday Elaine. She always goes to estate sales and is a great provider of milk glass. My collection is huge because of her. What do you collect and who helps you with your collection?

Happy Mom's Day
Found this cute greeting card a while back at an estate sale. Happy Mother's Day to all you great moms out there. Hope you are honored in a special way today. And to my mom, who reads my blog, thanks for all you do for me and my family. You are an inspiration as a mom, artist, grandma, wife, and friend. That's about as mushy as I am going to get. You know I love you.
Love this image too. My little boy has been getting dirty lately everywhere we go. It has been all about finding a pile of dirt to play in or a mud puddle to step in. Well, at least he's not in white shorts ever.
Found this hummel box yesterday at an antique shop. It plays the sound of music. It is going to my mother in law who loves vintage, and antiques as much as me.
...and these I found for a buck at Grant's antiques, my new favorite store. Happy Mother's Day!

{Funky Cats}
{softball post}
Warning: this is a softball post, so just bear with me, it has nothing to do with art. I haven't posted about the season once yet, and we are almost through. If you know me, you know that softball rates right up there with scrapbooking and stuff. Emma has had another great season. Her batting has really improved thanks to her coaches. She really enjoys the sport, as I do watching her. Also, I threw in a pic of Mr. H enjoying the snack after the game. We are a the end of the season tournament, so I just want to say, "Go, Blue Steal".

birds and bonnets
Ohh! I finished my birds and bonnets pages for the swap. I will put them in the mail tomorrow to go to Karla and Beth. They had to have either the birds or bonnets images or the images of vintage wallpaper backing. I did a little of both. This was very fun. I added some vintage embelishments. Can't wait for the swap and returns. You can check out some others on the flickr site set up for it here. And... now I am all caught up on everything and haven't signed up for any new swaps. This is a first, in about a year. My options are open. Any ideas?

Teacher Appreciation
I saw this in the May/June Scrapbooks etc. Magazine. It's teacher appreciation week this week at school so I made some for the kid's teachers. I just covered pencils with green printed scrapbook paper, tied on ribbons for leaves and hot glued flowers and buttons on the top of the pencils. I found the malt glasses at the Goodwill for a dollar, and filled them with gumdrops. This would be good for the the end of the year too.
